Platonic is so awesome and beautiful!! Purple is my favorite color!! lOve your stuff!

Congrats Rachel! Let me know your wrist measurement and your mailing address. Did you want something purple? Light or dark? Or something else entirely?

I had a good weekend. My mom, sister, and I drove to Salt Lake together for a family reunion. SLC = way better shopping than what's available in Logan, so my sister and I bailed on the reunion for a few hours and had an absolute blast! We hit 2 Joann's, Michaels, Draper Point outlets, and Heartland Paper. (ok, we have a Jo's and a Michaels in Logan, but the selection varies SO much between stores.) We found some great deals as well. My sister was able to find the fabric she has been searching for. I found scrapbook supplies that someone would actually want to use. We both bought clothes. Happy Day!

My brother, sister-in-law, and nephew stopped by yesterday. Austin is growing up so much! He'll be 2 in less than a month. I can't believe how fast time flies! They are due to have a baby boy on 7/5, but she'll probably be induced tomorrow. I love being an aunt. I can't believe my younger brother will have 5 kids, but I love it anyway. I hope the new baby has dark red hair like Austin did. I can't wait to see him. I know his mama's pretty anxious to have him here as well! LOL

giveaway...

I've had a lucky, happy day and wanted to share the love... so how about a giveaway? I will make a bracelet for one lucky person (chosen at random). I'll even let the winner pick the color for the bracelet! All I ask you to do is check out my Etsy shop and tell me which item you like best. I will pick the winner on Monday morning (6/30) so be sure to have your comment posted no later than Sunday night...

lucky me!

I have a vacation day scheduled for tomorrow... I got to work today and my schedule showed 'vacation' for today as well. The work had already been split up among my other coworkers, so there wasn't really anything I needed to do. I did stay and help out for half my shift, but I'm so excited to be done early today. Wahoo!! Lucky me! Now I'll get to have some creative time too. Originally, I would only have had time to run errands and pack for tomorrow. I'm smiling!

I wore my hair curly today. It's naturally curly, but oddly enough it takes longer to get the curls looking good than it does to just straighten my hair. I don't like to spend more than 20 minutes combined on my hair and makeup, so it goes straight 90% of the time. I guess I was just in the mood for something different today.

Perhaps I'll take my sister out to lunch today too. I don't like to eat out unless it's a special occasion... is curly hair and a scheduling error enough of a special occasion?

flirt buddy

My friend, Sam, and I flirt with each other. A lot. Anyway, yesterday at work, he pushed his chair up against mine so that they were back to back. He then laid his head back so it was resting on my shoulder and I laid my head on his head. My friend, Tiffany, looked at us and asked what we were doing. Sam's reply... "We're sleeping together." Haha. (Mom... inhale, exhale... take a deep breath. He was joking.)

playtime

I was so excited to have some time to scrapbook yesterday. I sat down with my new stamps and just played. I sometimes get frustrated that playtime isn't productive. I have to remind myself that it's okay to let loose, have fun, and really have nothing to show for it. I *did* manage to get one card made in the 4 hours I played. LOL

I used two of the stamps that I designed on this card. The background dot is one. The logo on the back of the card is the other...

I will often get an idea of how I want something and then have NO luck finding it. This happens with fabric, paper, clothing, etc. In this case, it happened with stamps. I prefer clear stamps too, so when I set out to have these made, I knew that I'd want to work with someone that could produce clear stamps.

The process was easy. I just opened photoshop and got to designing. I then emailed the owner of Imagine Stamps and she replied right away with a price quote. Honestly, I was slightly hesitant. Anytime you have custom work done there's a chance it won't be as good as commercial products available. That wasn't the case at all. I got right to work using my stamps and love the final result. I will definitely get more stamps designed and place another order!

The butterfly on the card is one that I purchased on Etsy. All I did was ink it up with Versamagic chalk ink and heat emboss. (The dots and logo are stamped with Versacolor and heat embossed with clear powder). I love fun, easy projects that look great when they're done :)

good day

Today was a good day! I woke up early, worked on some more organization (which I'll share soon... I promise!), ran errands, played with the camera, talked to my mom on the phone, made an amazing orange julius, and played with some new clear stamps I got.

And here is one of those stamps in action... (heat embossed too!)Photobucket
I designed these stamps in Photoshop and had them created. I was anxious to see how they'd turn out and I'm so happy with them that I'll be sure to design some other stamps and order those as well! (Do not judge the stamp by the stamping.... I was in a hurry to try them out, so the work *I* did is not that great. The stamps themselves are great.) I'll have to play with them some more and show the results of some actual good stamping. LOL

flutter

My amazing niece will be eleven this week. Geez.... time sure flies! We saw the most adorable shirt (at Walmart, if you'll believe it!) and decided we'd make her a necklace, earrings, and bracelet to match.

I have spent the morning running errands and playing with the settings on my camera. I want to take killer photos, so I'm trying to learn all the tips and tricks. Sadly, I used to be pretty good. I absolutely loved my camera and I took photos every day. The camera broke and I ended up buying the exact same model again, but in the month that I waited to get the new one I fell out of habit. That's been almost 3 years ago and I'm still trying to get back into the groove.
